Vako Hardware — Canadian Product Catalogue

With no existing Canadian website in place, I designed and built a new site from the ground up to function as a clear, approachable product catalogue for interior designers and professional workrooms.

The U.S. version of the Vako site provided a strong foundation, so I used it as a reference while adapting the experience for a Canadian audience and aligning it with the owner’s direction. The focus was on creating a smooth, intuitive browsing experience — light, minimal, and easy to navigate — where products feel considered rather than overwhelming.

Having worked closely with workrooms and interior designers through companies like Workroom by Design and Q Design, I understood how this audience typically engages with hardware online. Designers often browse systems digitally, but prefer to confirm measurements, pricing, and specifications through direct conversations. The site was designed to support that behaviour, acting as a visual catalogue that naturally leads users toward speaking with a representative.

To maintain clarity, the Canadian product offering was intentionally streamlined to highlight Vako’s core essentials. Secondary products were left out to preserve a focused, minimalist experience. I also reviewed and refined the downloadable product PDFs to ensure branding and presentation were consistent across all touchpoints.

As the systems section came together, the site began to feel cohesive and complete — reinforcing the idea that a simplified structure and restrained design can create a more confident and user-friendly experience.

Outcome
A clean, minimal catalogue website that presents Vako’s hardware clearly while supporting a streamlined, conversation-led sales process.
